You might wake up some morning....to the sound of something moving past your
window in the wind....etc.

It is a most beautiful song. Hope someone finds the correct tab/chords for
it.

Thank

Indeed Bob Lind is a name out of the days of San Francisco, song by Scott
MacKensie called (If You're Goin' to) San Francisco, near the time Bobby
Kennedy was killed - seemed like early 1969?
Bob Lind had a really pretty song out called "Elusive Butterfly"_
"You might wake up some mornin, to the sound of something moving past
your window in the wind, and if you're quick enough to rise you might hear
footsteps followed close by heavy breathing - don't be concerned - it will
not

harm you , it's only me pursuing something I'm not sure of, (cross my
dreams)?*
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
I heard Bob Lind perform this at the Ice House in Pasadena. He used 2
chords - Dm7 and G - try it! (I think that was the right key.)

email me? Thanks Suzy

The lyrics are readily available and here are the chords. If the text
spacing messes up my chord positioning, you can still figure it out just by
playing around with it.

1. sound of something moving past your window in the wind.
Dm G7
1. And if you're quick e__nough to rise, you'll catch the

and missing half the lyrics. Doug

Elusive Butterfly (with chords)
(Written by Bob Lind)

C Dm G7
You might wake up some morning to the sound
C
Of something moving past your window in the wind
Dm G7
And if you're quick enough to rise, you'll catch
Dm G7 C
The fleeting glimpse of someone's fading shadow

C Dm G7
Out on the new horizon you may see
C
The floating motion of a distant pair of wings
Dm G7
And if the sleep has left your ears
Dm G7 C
You might hear footsteps running through an open meadow

Chorus:
C Dm G7 C
Don't be concerned, it will not harm you
Dm G7 C
It's only me pursuing something I'm not sure of
Dm G7 C
Across my dream with nets of wonder
Dm G7 C
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love

C Dm G7
You might have heard my footsteps echo softly
C
In the distance through the canyons of your mind
Dm G7
I might have even called your name as I ran
Dm G7 C
Searching after something to believe in

C Dm G7
You might have seen me running through the long
C
Abandoned ruins of the dreams you left behind
Dm G7 Dm
If you remember something there that glided past you
G7 C
Followed close by heavy breathing

Repeat chorus (x2)

Yea, Doug, that's closer. But I'm thinking the C doesn't really belong. It
kind of goes back and forth from CM7 to Dm

Thanks!

I like transitions... Too long on one chord gets boring for me. Also, a lot
of the Dm's should probably be Dm7's, or a Dm - Dm7 transition. I meant to
change that but had to get back to taxes and study for class last night.
